In partnership with Standard Bank, Netcare has invested in Founders Factory Africa (FFA). Together Netcare and FFA will provide 35 healthtech startup businesses across the African continent with innovative opportunities through Netcare’s investment of up to R180 million over five years.
From Netcare, the partnership will be led by Richard Friedland (Chief Executive Officer) and Melanie Da Costa (Director of Strategy and Health policy).
The Moonshots division within Standard Bank, which is leading this partnership, exists to grow businesses and create jobs across the continent. It has already invested in and partnered with various technology companies - both local and international - to launch disruptive products and solutions into the market.
From Standard Bank, the partnership will be led by Darren Segal (Head, Moonshots) Nadia Oshry (Lead, Moonshots) and Larry McCarthy (Head Strategic Investments and Alliances. Together with the operations team at Founders Factory Africa, Standard Bank will provide a platform of support for startups selected for the programme, further catalysing the pan-African tech ecosystem.
Founders Factory is the world’s best partner for founders. A London based team of 70 digital specialists across data science, design, engineering, growth, fundraising, marketing and partnerships will support founders in the Founders Factory Africa program. Founders Factory will also connect FFA’s portfolio to its global network of corporates, investors and talent.
