Billed by the media as the “Spotify for Textbooks”, Perlego is a learning eBook subscription that gives students and professionals unlimited access to over 200,000 titles, for less than the price of a single book.     What we need

    We’re looking for a Head of Growth to build and lead the growth marketing “task-force” - we want you to plan the mission, execute, learn and improve. You will be responsible for growing our subscriber base around the world and helping the product improve people’s lives by making learning effortless. 

    Responsibilities

    • Reporting to the CEO, you’ll be responsible for building our growth marketing team - revenue growth will be your guiding metric. You will own the marketing funnel, from brand awareness all the way through to acquisition, retention and referral.
    • Develop and execute the user acquisition strategy, owning the marketing budget and constantly optimising CLTV : CAC across channels. You’re responsible for putting the money where it works best.
    • Using a data-led approach, you will test new hypotheses and run experiments to improve our offer, pricing, CRM and conversion funnel and ultimately any lever that drives revenue growth.
    • You will work closely with the Product team to build a product that puts users in the driving seat of the growth strategy, designing in-built product virality, a strong network effect and clear SEO strategy to steer Perlego towards an organic growth model.
    • Knowing who our users are and what they need is the key to success in this role. Using data analysis, conducting user-interviews and keeping an eye on customer support, you’ll understand how we can improve our conversion funnel, optimise our campaigns and make recommendations to our product team on how to increase retention.
    • You’ll think creatively of new marketing and growth partnerships. Negotiation and great communication are key skills to have.
    • While you’ll be tasked with growth, you’ll be responsible for building a brand that empowers our users to become the flag-bearers of our mission, the driving force behind our growth. You’ll know how to strike a balance between brand-building and acquisition to build an experience that people love!

    Must-haves

    • Experience with growth marketing within a technology business. Big plus if it’s a subscription business.
    • Energy, passion and a sleeves-rolled-up mentality: think quick, act fast and measure later. We don’t overplan or get lost in “strategising” - you’re a self-starter.
    • Data-led thinking, communicated simply.
    • Experience leading and developing cross-functional teams
    • Able to talk confidently and intelligently about the marketing strategy, motivate your team and
    • explain your choices to non-marketers, getting everyone excited about the plans along the way.
    • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in a technical, marketing or business discipline.

    Ideal candidates will also have:

    • Advanced experience with a wide range of paid channels including Facebook Ads, Google Adwords, Outbrain, DEM... The more the merrier.
    • Advanced knowledge of Excel (or Google Sheets)
    • Advanced experience with data analysis and tools such as GA, Hotjar and SQL databases.
    • Knowing Python is a plus.
    • Entrepreneurial spirit and experience in a startup environment
    • Multi-lingual (with a preference for other major european languages)
    • Have a general interest in books, reading and always learning new things!
