is a revolutionary well funded start-up which, at its heart, enables private car owners to rent their cars directly to others when they are not using them. Think Airbnb for cars. Our brand purpose is to become the smartest peer-to-peer car sharing community globally and by doing so, reduce the cars we need on our planet by 20%.
The world needs a smarter way to own and use cars. Car ownership costs are high, yet cars are only used for 4% of their time. There are 31m in the UK and 1bn worldwide highlighting a chronic inefficiency of private car ownership and a huge opportunity around unlocking their idle capacity.
Uniquely, the Car & Away community was born at UK airports where we offer car owners a new choice to park and earn
by renting their cars out while they are away. Using these cars we disrupt traditional car rental businesses by giving renters the exact car they book - no counters, no queues and no hidden extras. Customers simply turn up, collect the car and drive away in under 5 minutes.
Stage two of the business is where it gets really big - activating airport acquired owners to rent their cars from home - 50% want to do this. Enabled through keyless instant book technology Car & Away will be the first platform in Europe to have 100% of cars instantly bookable. Renters can search, book, open and start the cars all through their mobile phones (keyless cars on demand)

You and the Role
You will be at the stage of your career where you want to commit to a growth opportunity and be foundational in shaping a key function of a business on a growth mission that has a clear objective to take 20% of the cars of our planet.
You will have a minimum 2 years experience managing campaigns in digital performance marketing channels or had 2 years experience managing successful eCRM campaigns.
You thrive on detail, and appreciate the importance of getting things right. You are highly numerate and can obtain insights from data quicly. You are an ambitious and fast learner.
You will crave for data that will support key decisions on who we target, what we communicate and how we reach them. You will have supported successful test / learn / iterate feedback loops, knowing the pitfalls to avoid and how to accelerate the learning to achieve scale quickly with the optimal execution
You understand the complimentary role of digital marketing along side PR, eCRM and the customer experience.
You are an exceptional communicator and have the ability to build quick and lasting relationships. Your communication capability will enable you to gain the trust of our partners and stake holders to the extent that they will go the extra mile for you and the business.
Your natural instincts will drive you to want to experience first hand what we do, and to engage with customers who are using our service. You will want to find out why customers engage with our brand and how we can communicate with and successfully find more prospective customers.
You will be responsible for working with our digital partner (The Mighty Social) to ensure that we build a strong foundation or our target audience, how to reach them and how to build strong and cost efficient engagement strategies that generate transactions and future loyalty.
Further development opportunities will be possible through becoming the key contact between the business and our PR agency. We are also developing a grass routes organising campaign that will enable our community of sharers to become advocates and “raving fans”. This is a great opportunity to build additional soft skills around community / relationship building.
