Project Judy will reimagine legal operations in the enterprise by making it faster and more efficient for everyone. By combining advance A.I. technologies with all new workflow tools, Judy will bridge in-house legal teams with the rest of the organisation.

This is a critical role for the business as it will set the foundation for the technology and infrastructure for this ambitious startup and develop the fully functioning initial product. As Senior Engineer you will set and execute a clear technical vision for the business.  You will balance short term deliverables against long term goals and be ready to develop the initial scalable infrastructure and product yourself, identifying where further support is required.

Judy is backed by Founders Factory, a leading incubator in London.  Founders Factory provides the ideal base to build the foundations for a rapidly scaling startup, with an engineering and data science community, a rigorous approach to product development and access to corporate partners for testing and rolling out products. We are seeking a Senior Engineer to play a pivotal role in defining and building Judy. Working alongside Judy’s experienced CEO, data scientist and product designer, you will be surrounded and supported by some of the brightest minds in tech, including the Factory's in-house CTO and Chief Scientific Officer.

    Responsibilities

    • Take charge of platform development, owning the engineering budget and making key decisions on technical architecture. Configure our technical infrastructure to enable us to scale smoothly as we grow.
    • Alongside developing the back-end, develop the front-end, with help from our product designer.
    • Deliver the MVP (prototype), enabling us to test, iterate and serve our early customers.
    • Develop a SAAS platform that functions effectively for the Factory’s large corporate partners, such as Marks & Spencer, Aviva, and easyJet, but also encourages rapid adoption by growth companies.
    • Ensure consistent best practices, processes, and procedures for software development, quality assurance, and maintenance.
    • Implementing best practices & technology stacks.

    Requirements

    • A track record of delivering well-engineered products that delight users, preferably in venture backed tech businesses or other fast moving environments.
    • Experience of a diverse set of full stack technologies including experience with web, mobile, data and infrastructure.
    • Knowledge of a range of current cross-platform product development frameworks.
    • Proven ability to implement secure architecture.
    • Machine learning and data science experience is a big plus.

Other qualities we are looking for:

    • Motivation to join an early stage startup business! And stay for the long haul!
    • A high degree of user empathy and actively seeks to test, learn and iterate based on user feedback.
    • Appetite for experimenting with new technologies and tools.
    • Enthusiastic about defining and cultivating a product-oriented engineering culture that instills a spirit of continuous improvement.
    • Well organised, able to manage time effectively, and comfortable working across multiple projects concurrently.
    • Strong communication skills - you’ll be sharing the results of analyses, and discussing technical problems, with a variety of audiences.
    • Thrive in a creative problem solving environment.

    Benefits

    • Founders Factory provides the excitement and freedom of an early stage startup but with the stability and resource of a large organisation.
    • Founder-level salary.
    • An equity stake in the business.
    • A chance to contribute across the full business spectrum with the autonomy to set the technical direction of a company in an exciting sector attracting considerable venture investment.
    • Take a leading role in shaping the culture of our company and to own the engineering direction of an early stage startup.
    • Factory benefits include the peer network of support for you and the business, equipment you need and conference/training budget, free beer, free meals twice a week and a host of interesting and exciting events and activities.
We have a high volume of applications and you will hear from us within a week if you have been successful.

    Could this be you?
