    The Company

BeRightBack is the world’s first travel subscription service. Our initial proposition is simple. Pay monthly, select your dates and we’ll handle the rest. From selecting the best hotels to sorting out your flights; with BRB you always have travel to look forward to in your calendar.

We want to change the way millennials engage with travel, making it social, mobile and effortless. Seeing more of the world shouldn’t be a black hole in your monthly budget, or a full time job to organise.

    The Role

We are seeking a tech lead/senior engineer to own & build the tech platform that will change the way people travel. This will be one of our first hires and is one the most critical roles for the business as it will set the foundation for the team and infrastructure for this tech startup.

While some of the tech solution is already in place, it’s still very much open where we go from here. The role will make use of your broad range of technical experience to deliver a great customer experience across our web platform, operations and (soon) mobile experience.

    • Take charge of the technical build-out of the customer-facing product, working closely with CEO & CPO to prioritise the backlog based on validated learnings
    • Configure our technical infrastructure to enable us to scale smoothly as we grow
    • Shape how we will deliver an in-destination user experience
    • Set up automation of essential business processes (sourcing trips, payments, customer support)
    • Help define what the future engineering team will look like.

    Tech Ability

    • Have 5+ years of software development experience, preferably in a startup environment
    • A good breadth of technical ability, with focus on full-stack web
    • Able to go deep on specialist areas, ideally backend services with Python/Django
    • Experience with front-end javascript development, preferably React
    • Strong experience on setting up technical infrastructure, such as on AWS with Terraform
    • Expertise in evaluating a variety of technical platforms and determining technical strategy
    • Bonus: Mobile app development with a solution like React Native.

    Product & Communication

    • Able to clearly describe technical solutions in terms of customer value
    • Experience translating business & product objectives into technical goals
    • Confident on stakeholder communication, both internal & external.

    • Proven delivery of a consumer product to market or users' hands
    • Ideally led development from scratch
    • Capable of applying appropriate project management strategies.
    Salary: £40 - 60k
    Equity: Negotiable

Be part of the Founders Factory environment, we're fresh out of the incubator with a year left in the building. That means free lunches on Thursdays and Fridays, being surrounded by some of the brightest minds in tech with regular events taking place in the space and being part of the engineering community at the Factory with regular tech talks.

It's also a great opportunity to really take part in shaping the culture of our company and to own the engineering direction of an early stage startup, everything is on the table and up for grabs!

    Could this be you?
