Our support

Perlego were drawn to Founders Factory due to the corporate partnership with German publishing giant Holtzbrinck. This proved to be hugely beneficial as they were looking to strengthen their links to the publishing industry, and better understand the pain points of publishers they were looking to sell to.

Perlego received close support on the marketing front from the Founders Factory growth team. Through extensive testing, they helped identify SEO as a very effective channel, helping them acquire new customers in a scalable and cost effective way.

When they joined the Accelerator, Perlego was a team of just 6. With a fresh round of funding heading into the programme, they had scope to grow the team to fill existing gaps. Founders Factory were very hands-on during the hiring process, helping them to identify these gaps and understand who to prioritise hiring, doubling their teamsize by the end of the programme. One key hire was Ashleigh Otter, at the time the Accelerator Program Manager at Founders Factory, now COO at Perlego.

“The hands-on approach Founders Factory takes is incredibly beneficial. They act as an extension of your team, providing access to talent and expertise that might otherwise be unaffordable for a startup. This level of support and guidance is a huge advantage for any founder looking to accelerate their company’s growth.”

We launched Oxwash in 2018, while I was completing my Synthetic Biology PhD at the University of Oxford. The business was born out of my own frustration with the perpetually broken washing machines in my college laundry.

Armed with a bike and a deliveroo backpack spray-painted blue, I began collecting and washing clothes for fellow students. Things quickly snowballed – and as interest grew, it developed into a growing on-demand laundry business.
