  • Breakthroughs transforming quality of life: From textiles acting as monitoring tools, sub-surface brain interfaces for speech decoding, and robotic support for basic tasks, those selected offer new modes of care management and patient empowerment.

  • Accelerating time to market: This programme is critically important as the innovations chosen can be validated and deployed by connecting solutions directly to the thousands of people with MS.

Perth, 1st June 2026 - MSWA and global accelerator and venture studio Founders Factory have today announced the first startups joining their MS & Neurological Care Accelerator, the world’s first dedicated startup programme, fast-tracking cutting-edge technologies to improve quality of life for people affected by neurological conditions like multiple sclerosis, stroke, Parkinson’s, Huntington’s, motor neurone disease, and acquired brain injury.

The accelerator programme is designed to help groundbreaking solutions reach patients sooner. Central to the accelerator programme is the unique support to shorten the time it takes for groundbreaking solutions into the hands of patients. The selected ventures will have the opportunity to work directly with MSWA’s extensive clinical network and its community of thousands living with neurological conditions for testing and piloting in real-world settings.

Each selected early-stage venture embraces technological advances - from brain-computer interfaces, AI and robotics to wearables and monitoring health tools - delivering new care modes that meet sufferer’s neurological and physical challenges.

The five ventures selected are:

  • upLYFT (London): Uplyft is a "Movement Intelligence" platform that transforms textiles into an invisible layer of health and performance understanding.

  • Neurosonic (San Francisco): Prevent strokes by detecting and monitoring carotid artery blockage (stenosis) using blood flow sound and a proprietary database.

  • Fluent (Melbourne): The Fluent device is a subscalp brain-computer interface for speech decoding.

  • Clarity Technologies (San Francisco, Paris): Device providing sensory stimulation therapy to treat neurodegenerative diseases including fatigue for individuals with MS.

  • ReVimo (Boston): Portable robotic self-transfer device that enables individuals with mobility impairments to get out of bed and perform self-care tasks safely and independently

The MS & Neurological Care Accelerator addresses a critical gap in global healthtech investment, ensuring emerging healthcare solutions reach the millions affected by the world’s  fastest-growing neurological conditions. Multiple sclerosis and Parkinson’s disease are among the most rapidly advancing neurological conditions globally, with Parkinson’s prevalence projected to more than double by 2050 and MS prevalence rising across every continent. Stroke is also escalating in impact, with global cases expected to almost double by 2050. Without faster pathways from breakthrough to bedside, these technologies risk being delayed for years, while the need continues to climb.

Minister for Science, Innovation & Medical Research Stephen Dawson:

“The Cook Government is proud to support the partnership between MSWA and Founders Factory, which is helping translate world-class medical research into real outcomes for people living with neurological conditions.”

“By supporting early-stage companies to test and scale their ideas, we are helping bring new technologies into real-world settings for patients sooner.”

MSWA CEO Melanie Kiely said: “We’re welcoming some of the world’s brightest innovators to Perth this week, giving them the opportunity to meet our Clients firsthand and see the real-world impact their ideas can achieve.

“By bringing their talent and ambition here, we’re fast-tracking innovations that might otherwise take years to reach the people that need them most, creating real-world trials right here in Australia.

“This world-first initiative is the only programme  of its kind dedicated to accelerating technologies specifically for MS and other neurological conditions. For MSWA, it sees our strategy in action, translating cutting-edge research into tangible outcomes for our Clients and the broader neurological community.”

The global Neurological Care Tech Accelerator will be operated out of Perth, WA and is endorsed by Premier Roger Cook, who praised the partnership as a key driver for innovation and growth in the state and as a critical pathway to significant medical breakthroughs

Premier of Western Australia Roger Cook:

“My government is ensuring all Western Australians can access the healthcare they need, when they need it. WA leads the nation for prevention and care in the neurological community, and these startups are great examples of what our State does best.

“By providing these startups with direct support, MSWA and Founders Factory are helping WA remain a nation leader in the field while supporting the wellbeing of all Western Australians.”

Tamryn Barker, nature tech sector director, Founders Factory: “Western Australia has proved itself to be the perfect arena to develop breakthrough technologies that can solve the biggest challenges facing our economy and environment. We’re delighted to be working closely with the WA Government to uncover bold new startups that will help us enhance nature and biodiversity, build resilience in agriculture, reforestation, marine restoration and decarbonisation of heavy industry.”

Rohan Silva, Chair of Western Australia, Founders Factory:

“Neurological care is one of the biggest global health challenges. Yet, it is the one of the least currently served by technology or investors, despite entrepreneurial talent coming up with great innovations - as evident by those selected for this programme. By mobilising founders around this space, we’re creating a launchpad for breakthrough impact.”
